Samples and Finish Approval for Coverings

Choose the sample for the decision behind the order. A swatch shows colour and texture, adjoining lengths show the join, and a fitted piece connects the covering to your actual surface.

For a Relia enquiry, identify the product and decision first, then keep the accepted physical reference with its design, dimensions and quotation version.

Choose the Sample Format by the Decision

Relia's thin embossed wallpapers, raised panels and complete murals need different sample formats. For a roll, include enough pattern and both adjoining edges to judge the join. For a mural, review the complete composition alongside a material sample.

State whether the decision is appearance, layout or fitting. Discuss the applicable size, sample quantity and delivery arrangement for that particular task.

Compare Colour and Gloss in the Intended Light

Place the identified sample beside the finishes it will meet. View colour and surface at the intended distance and lighting, then from an angle that reveals gloss or relief.

Retain the physical reference and photograph its context. Use the photographs to record the review, with the actual sample as the agreed appearance reference.

Turn a Pattern Review Into a Layout Decision

Mark top, direction and two adjoining edges. Show vertical or horizontal stripes and the motif features that should meet. For a mural, mark the full-image crop. Keep pattern placement and material appearance as distinct decisions.

Printing sets the visible colour and geometry; embossing creates texture and changes the light response. Review both on the selected material. Identify a new-artwork proof separately from the material swatch, keeping the surface and construction stable while that artwork is assessed.

  1. Orient

Record the top and intended design direction.

  2. Join

    Place adjacent sections together.

  3. Review

Check the visible motif, crop and boundaries.

  4. Record

Retain the approved version and any required revision.

Use an Approval Record Everyone Can Follow

A practical approval record names the product, selected design, sample or artwork version, date and the scope of acceptance. Record colour, gloss, texture, dimensions or layout separately. Mark unresolved items as open rather than calling the complete order approved. If a later change affects the backing, material, gauge or printed artwork, give it a new version so the previous decision is not used for the revised product.

View Two Adjacent Lengths Together

Place two lengths or panels together in their intended orientation and view from the planned room direction. Compare pattern direction, aligned edges and changes in gloss across the boundary.

For marble looks, assess the actual vein movement rather than expecting a small repeating motif. Record the accepted join against the selected product and layout.

Test Fitting and Removal on the Actual Surface

The removable glossy marble-look PVC wallpaper lists a 1.2 × 3 m format with separate approximately 0.25 and 0.11 mm thickness descriptions. For a fitting or removal review, identify which supplied version is used and the underlying surface. Record preparation, installation conditions, edge behaviour and the review result. A small discreet trial is especially useful where preserving the underlying finish is part of the buying decision.

Keep the Approved Reference for Replenishment

For repeat orders, send the prior product and approval reference with the new quantity. Identify whether the supply will sit beside an existing installation or go separately to retail customers.

Keep required appearance limits and the accepted version with the enquiry. This lets the new offer be compared with a defined reference instead of a broad marble or colour name.

Arrange Samples With a Clear Purpose

Tell us the selected product, decision to be reviewed and the approximate order behind it. We can then discuss the applicable sample format, quantity, charges, destination and preparation arrangement for that item. Keep the review scope and the resulting decision with your RFQ. Sample approval is one checkpoint in a purchase, alongside the complete specification, packing, price basis and other agreed order conditions.
