Wide Decorative Films for Cabinet Door Refacing
For cabinet door refacing, add returns and trimming to every face before selecting roll width. Start with the 122cm wood-look or marble-effect film where a wide door needs one piece; reserve the 60cm metallic option for parts its width can cover. Then nest compatible smaller doors beside the large cuts without rotating an approved grain direction.
| Finish route | Supplied format | Purchase minimum |
|---|---|---|
| Wood-look PVC | 1.22 ×50m | 1 roll |
| Marble-effect PVC/vinyl | 122cm ×50m | 1 roll/design |
| Embossed metallic PVC/vinyl | 60cm ×5m | 20 rolls/design |
A Wide Format Must Still Be the Right Finish
Relia Wallpaper's China-based factory range includes wood-look cabinet/door-skin film, wide marble-effect furniture film and short metallic cabinet-covering rolls. All list online technical support and graphic design. They are three actual finish-and-format routes to compare against the door schedule.
Approve the physical finish and grain, vein or embossing direction before nesting. Record the accepted arrangement across neighbouring fronts so purchasing and the workshop work from the same part standard.

A Worked Door Cut Includes Four Returns
Illustrative door face: 70cm wide ×200cm high. Assume a 2cm developed return at each edge and 1cm trimming allowance at each edge. The blank becomes 76 ×206cm: 70+4+2 across and 200+4+2 along. These are example allowances to explain the calculation, not a required installation recipe.
A nominal 122cm roll spans the 76cm cut width; 60cm does not in that orientation. Obtain the actual usable width and accepted edge method before release. The outer face alone is not the right dimension for deciding whether the door can be covered in one piece.
The Wood-Look Door-Skin Route
The grey wood-look film is self-adhesive embossed PVC, 1.22 × 50m with 0.29mm listed thickness. It offers waterproof, moisture-proof, mould-proof and eco-friendly features for the cabinet/door-skin route.
Approve adjacent fronts together and mark grain arrows on the cut list. An efficient blank rotation is useful only where that direction remains acceptable on the finished door set.

Direction Comes Before Cutting Efficiency
Number adjacent fronts and mark the grain, vein or embossing direction on every part before nesting. Identify smaller pieces that may rotate and those that must retain the same direction.
Cutting decides which part of the decorative roll appears on each door. Keep the accepted sequence with the cut plan; a continuous roll alone does not establish a book-matched door set. Use rotated offcuts only in the locations and directions the buyer accepts.
| Film | Record before nesting |
|---|---|
| Wood-look | Accepted grain direction and adjacent fronts |
| Marble-effect | Vein direction and focal areas |
| Embossed metallic | Pattern orientation |
| Small parts | Permitted rotation or different direction |
The Marble-Effect Wide Face
The marble-effect covering is 122cm × 50m self-adhesive PVC/vinyl with waterproof, moisture-proof, mould-proof and anti-static functions. Obtain its actual thickness where the workshop needs that dimension.
Overlay the chosen vein pattern on the complete door and visible edge. Decide where strong veins stop and how neighbouring fronts repeat, then retain the accepted arrangement rather than only a small colour chip.

A Batch Nesting Example with a Smaller Door
Illustrative batch: twelve 76 × 206cm blanks and twelve 38 × 206cm blanks, all with the same accepted direction. Pairing 76 + 38cm uses 114cm across a nominal 122cm roll, leaving 8cm before usable-width restrictions. Twelve paired rows use 24.72m.
Separate cutting needs twelve wide rows plus four rows of three narrow blanks, or 16 × 2.06 = 32.96m. The paired plan uses 8.24m less in this example. Pattern sequence, defects, actual usable width and allowances can change that result.
- Example batch: 12wide+12narrow blanks
- Pair 76cm+38cm=114cm across 122cm
- 12paired rows ×2.06m=24.72m
- Separate: 12wide rows+4triple-narrow rows=32.96m
- Illustrative difference: 8.24m; validate actual conditions
A Short Metallic Roll for a Separate Part Schedule
The gold-toned metallic candidate is 60cm × 5m embossed PVC/vinyl with peel-and-stick installation. It offers waterproof, oil-proof, moisture-proof, mould-proof and heat-resistant features; obtain the product instructions for the actual heat exposure.
Assess it for narrower faces or small parts fitting its own width. It cannot span the example 76cm blank in the same orientation. Approve its separate design and embossing direction before adding it to the part schedule.

Roll Length and Minimum Define the Stock Commitment
The wood-look minimum is one 50m roll; the marble-effect minimum is one 50m roll per design. The metallic product starts at twenty 5m rolls per design. That is 100 linear metres at 60cm width, or 60m² nominal, divided among short rolls rather than one continuous length.
A similar nominal area does not make these orders equivalent. A 2.06m cut may fit twice into a 5m roll before other losses, but the remaining length may not serve the next long door. Request actual packing and any cutting service separately; the listings do not establish a supplied door kit.
| Film | Minimum | Nominal face area |
|---|---|---|
| Wood-look | 1 ×50m roll at 1.22m | 61m² |
| Marble-effect | 1 ×50m roll/design at 1.22m | 61m²/design |
| Short metallic | 20 ×5m rolls/design at 0.60m | 60m²/design across short rolls |
A Door-Film RFQ the Workshop Can Use
Send the actual door sizes and quantities, receiving finish, developed returns and trimming method. Attach accepted finish samples, pattern arrows, permitted joins and a batch nesting plan. Give required roll quantities separately from the calculated cut consumption so retained material remains visible.
All three products list online technical support. Request the actual usable width, available design, packing and product-specific edge instructions with the offer. The purchase should identify both the chosen film and the production detail that was accepted, rather than promising every wide door a join-free result from nominal width alone.
