PVC Panels, Foam Grille Rolls and Printed Murals: Planning a Feature-Wall RFQ

Feature-wall purchasing guide

Compare the Three Reference Formats

Compare a PVC panel, a foam grille roll and a printed mural when a feature-wall brief could be met by different decorative formats. Begin with the intended composition: repeating geometric panels, a wood-pattern grille arrangement or a large printed image. Then compare the actual material, supplied size, fitting information and order unit behind each choice.

These three catalogue references show why a visual shortlist also needs a specification shortlist. They do not share one construction or one set of functions. A useful enquiry identifies the reference that best matches the proposed wall, then describes the remaining decisions in enough detail for a product-specific quotation.

Matte-black geometric PVC panels: 50cm square

Reference
Matte-black geometric PVC 3D embossed wall panel
Material
PVC.
Supplied format
50 × 50cm per panel.
Thickness
Stated 0.8mm.
Selection
Matte black.

This reference offers a square geometric arrangement for home and hotel interior walls. A drawing should show the intended panel orientation, the number of rows and how the geometry meets at visible joins. Ask for fixing information for the actual wall; this reference does not specify a self-adhesive fitting method.

Vinyl/PE-foam grille roll: 60 by 300cm

Reference
Wood-pattern vinyl/PE-foam grille wallpaper
Material
Vinyl with PE foam.
Supplied format
60 × 300cm roll.
Fitting
Self-adhesive, peel and stick.
Selection
Ask sales for the catalogue.

The smooth wood-pattern/geometric grille appearance is supplied as a roll covering. Mark the desired grille direction and the dimensions of each proposed section. Size customization is listed for this product, so a nonstandard size can be raised as a specific enquiry with width, length and quantity.

IXPE foam/PET-surface mural: 120 by 240cm

Reference
Black/gold rose 5D UV-printed wall mural
Material
IXPE foam with a PET surface.
Supplied format
120 × 240cm.
Thickness and finish
Stated 2.3mm; glossy.
Fitting
Self-adhesive.

This is a large-pattern printed wall-sticker reference. The catalogue selection is “choose from catalog,” so identify the actual rose artwork and the complete supplied arrangement before planning the wall. Show how the image should sit around furniture, corners and openings.

The supply format changes how the enquiry is measured and described. Square panels call attention to a repeated grid and its edges. A grille roll calls attention to strip direction and the length of each run. A mural calls attention to the position and extent of the full artwork. Keep those differences visible before comparing quantities.

For tile-shaped alternatives, record their own dimensions, material and fitting description alongside the proposed grid and joint arrangement. The same comparison method remains useful, while the specification stays attached to the actual product being considered.

For a broader view of the catalogue, compare covering formats. For the exact measurements and selected options, use the product-specification guide.

What Does the Appearance Description Tell You?

3D-embossed geometric surface

The matte-black PVC panel has a 3D-embossed geometric appearance. Use that description to identify the design, then obtain the dimensions needed for detailing. Its stated 0.8mm thickness should remain a thickness entry; if your design depends on the complete profile, ask for the measurement scope and the relevant profile dimensions.

Wood/grille appearance in a foam roll

The grille reference combines a wood-pattern look with a vinyl/PE-foam roll construction. Keep both parts of that description in the brief. The design direction you prefer should be marked on an elevation, while the current 60 × 300cm format provides the starting dimensions for discussing runs or a requested custom size.

5D UV-printed rose mural reference

On the mural, 5D is a listed print/design descriptor. It does not define five physical layers or a measured relief depth. The known construction is IXPE foam with a PET surface, and the stated thickness is 2.3mm. Identify the black/gold rose artwork, glossy finish and desired image arrangement separately from any technical profile requirement.

A finish description also helps define the approval decision. Matte black, a wood-pattern grille and a glossy printed rose composition can each create a different visual emphasis. Ask which appearance reference can be reviewed for the selected product, including colour, finish and pattern direction. A room illustration explains a decorative idea; the agreed product and design reference identify what is being quoted.

Mark the direction of the repeated geometry or grille on the drawing rather than relying on “vertical” or “horizontal” without a reference view. For the mural, mark the desired position of the main artwork and any areas that may be covered by furniture or interrupted by an opening. These are layout instructions to discuss, not an assumption that every image can be resized or rearranged.

Compare Product-Specific Functions and Fitting Questions

Functions belong with the product that lists them. Reading them in separate groups makes a comparison more useful than combining all of them into one feature-wall promise.

Matte-black PVC panel

The 50cm panel has moisture-proof, mould-proof, waterproof and smoke-proof functions. Its listed interior uses include home, hotel and apartment decoration. Discuss preparation and fixing for the selected wall, plus the orientation and treatment of panel joins.

Vinyl/PE-foam grille roll

The grille roll has waterproof, oil-proof, mould-proof and moisture-proof features, with self-adhesive peel-and-stick installation. Named settings include living rooms, galleries, halls and restaurants. Include the existing wall finish and the preferred grille direction when requesting the fitting instructions.

IXPE/PET printed mural

The mural has moisture-proof, anti-static, sound-absorbing, mould-proof, waterproof, fireproof, soundproof, smoke-proof and heat-insulating functions. It is self-adhesive and has a fluorescent effect. Match any project requirement to the selected mural and its intended installation.

Ordinary functions and required evidence

If a project needs a particular acoustic, fire, smoke or thermal result, describe the requirement in the enquiry and request the relevant evidence. A named function does not supply a numerical rating, test method or approved assembly. The evidence checklist helps you ask for the document and product scope that the project needs.

Do not transfer the mural's sound or fire functions into the matte-black panel specification. Equally, the self-adhesive fitting statement for the grille roll should stay with that roll. This keeps the shortlist understandable when several products are being reviewed by different people.

Wall dimensions, substrate and pattern arrangement

Provide the wall width and height, the substrate and existing finish, visible repairs or uneven areas, openings and the proposed edge treatment. State the environment and expected use. Add an elevation showing panel joins, grille direction or the mural image position, depending on the chosen format.

Ask which preparation and fixing instructions apply and whether a product-specific fitting check should be agreed before a larger installation. This gives the discussion a real surface and layout instead of only a room name. The applications and surfaces guide covers the information needed for walls, ceilings, glass and floors.

Where an enquiry involves an exterior position or a ceiling, identify it explicitly and use the application guide to prepare the relevant requirements. The mural names some exterior applications; discuss the actual exposure, fixing and required evidence for that selection. Keep these conditions visible when adapting an interior decorative idea to a different setting.

Turn the Preferred Format Into an RFQ

Once the preferred format is clear, turn the shortlist into a brief that can be quoted. Keep the selected design, complete dimensions, order unit and project conditions together so the response can address the same version of the requirement.

Actual design reference and complete dimensions

Use the product link and the actual selection reference. Matte black identifies the panel selection. For the grille roll and mural, request the catalogue and identify the chosen design rather than treating the catalogue prompt as a colour. Record the full supplied dimensions, any requested change and the pattern arrangement shown on your drawing.

Quantity per model or design

  • The matte-black 50cm PVC panel has a minimum of 50 panels per model. Ask for the packing arrangement for that selection.
  • The vinyl/PE-foam grille roll lists a minimum of five cartons, equal to 120 rolls per design. Keep that design basis in the quantity request.
  • The IXPE/PET mural lists a minimum of five cartons per design. Confirm the carton contents before converting that minimum into a count of supplied units.

A wall-area estimate is useful project context, but it is not automatically the order quantity. Joins, cuts, image arrangement and the agreed supply format need to be considered before an order is finalized. Keep requested quantities separate for different designs and avoid treating one product's minimum as a catalogue-wide rule.

Required evidence and approved appearance reference

State the required documents and the decision that an appearance review must settle. Include the relevant colour, finish, pattern direction and specification version. If a sample or artwork review is agreed, keep its reference with the quotation so a later change is easy to identify.

The two panel/grille references carry one-year warranties, while the mural carries a five-year warranty. Online technical support is listed for all three; graphic-design capability is listed for the PVC panel and grille roll, and 3D-model-design capability for the mural. Agree how the relevant support and warranty conditions apply to the selected supply rather than assuming an identical service scope.

Finish the RFQ with the destination, the required quantity per model or design and any timing constraints you want discussed. Use the RFQ checklist to keep the technical and commercial questions together. Clear inputs make the next exchange more specific without requiring every detail to have been settled in advance.
